Your Task
Your task is to use all the investigative equipment in your lab to determine who has been taking your gum. You will choose a lab-partner to help you with these experiments.
Since the perpetrator chewed your gum he/she will have left DNA evidence behind.
You must:
1.) First research the techniques you'll be using in the laboratory.
2.) Following the correct protocol, you must collect DNA samples from the ABC gum and compare them to samples of the day-shift employees you've collected. Run the experiments and record the data collected on your datasheet.
3.) Compare the results to see if the unknown sample matches any of the day-shift people.
4.) Finish by preparing a 3 or 4 page powerpoint presentation to demonstrate areas or ways PCR and DNA fingerprinting technology would be useful in the future.
